Record of Saegareth
Knolan Therai, for reasons unknown, broke off all ties with The Sintari Adepts. Neither he nor the Sintari will say why or what happened. Nevertheless, Knolan went on to recruit spell casters from all walks of life. He brought them together into a guild formed on the basis of the desire to understand the fundamental truths of magic.
On the surface this is exactly the same desire as the Sintari, who wish to accomplish the understanding and mastery of the very root to magic. The Sintari however, are very academic about it, wanting to understand from a intellectual perspective. Arcana Eterna disagrees: magic is not a miracle, it did not spring into being unbidden with rules; the power to overcome reasoning, comes from reasoning. The mentality of Arcana Eterna is that magic is a river, a force uncontrolled yet placed in a delicate balance, born not from the cosmos but from the connection of mages with their own soul. However one reaches that point: through deals or books, or simple birth is unimportant, you were born with the Spark. However, it requires the soul and the will of the wielder to be in tandem for it and both to truly shine; Maram Vadim Du’an: “Desire to Know the Spirit” is the creed on which Arcana Eterna was built.
Many mages who spurn the Sintari found refuge in Arcana Eterna. And so, what should have been a small obscure brotherhood led by a former Sintari grew to be a strong guild that could match the Sintari for power if not influence. There is no true structure outside of a basic command chain among the guild members, as all are considered equals. For all magic is equal and ultimately representative of the caster, each mage’s spark (magic) is unique, a substance that cannot at the end be replicated. Arcana Eterna works together to survive and succeed, to understand and grow; a fellowship of peers and brothers made whole by a desire to simply understand that inherent gift.
